Logitech has released its customizable Pop Switch solution, which you can pair with a variety of smart home devices to allow quick-access functionality.

Initially announced in August, you can program the Pop Switch to carry out a trio of smart home pre-sets at a single press, bypassing any messing around with phone apps.

As an example, you could set a recipe to close your smart blinds, turn on the TV via Logitech Harmony Remote, and dim your Philips Hue smart lights – all ready for movie night.

Given the smoothness of this act, you might even add bonus sexy time as a fourth benefit.

The Pop Switch can also work with Sonos, trigger a playlist at a pre-set volume, or unlocking/locking the August Lock.

You can access different pre-sets with one press, two presses, or a press & hold via the companion Pop app.

It comes compatible with many products from a variety of big brands in smart home tech. These include Sonos, August, Philips Hue, Harmony, Instean, Belkin WeMo and Lutron will all work out of the box.

Along with the three switches, a Bridge is also shipped in the starter pack that costs $119. Add on switches can be bought for £34. With typical household use, the switches are expected to last for five years, so no worries about battery life.

Given how much we tend to faff about with smartphone apps, performing one task at a time, we’re intrigued by the possibilities opened up by the Pop Switch.
